Goku is a popular mod for nearly every Super Smash Bros. title but could he officially be added to the next entry in the series?  Recently, Super Smash Brothers creator Masahiro Sakurai revealed that the Smash title announced at the most recent Nintendo Direct is not a port of Super Smash Bros. Wii U/3DS and is a brand new game.

That of course, opens the door for a brand new roster and you'd be hard-pressed to find a more requested character than the popular Dragon Ball Z fighter.  Even anime streaming platform, FUNimation is getting in on the buzz, creating a mock-up of how Goku fight card might look.

Though not much is known about the game, a 2018 release has been confirmed.
