In spite of the fact that Nintendo may have have opened a couple of directly operated stores in the major hubs of Tokyo and Osaka throughout the course of the years, the crimson titan of gaming has been looking past its hometown of Kyoto, until now. The launch of Nintendo Kyoto, which will take place on October 17 in a brand-new structure in the heart of downtown Kyoto, was announced by Nintendo today!

Within the brand-new Kyoto Takashimaya SC building, which is being constructed right next to the existing one, Nintendo Kyoto will be located on the seventh floor. On floors five and six, there will be a two-story Tsutaya Bookstore. On the fourth level, there will be the first-ever Mandarake second-hand anime items store, creating a buzz pop-culture place in the center of Kyoto.

You can check out the official statement from Nintendo's twitter account below!

The Nintendo Store in Kyoto, just like the other Nintendo Stores located throughout Japan, will sell games, goods, and other items that are unique to the location. In November 2019, Nintendo launched its first store outside of Japan in Tokyo, and in November 2022, Nintendo Osaka opened its doors.

The new store will definitely be a fun stop for those living locally and visitors from around the world! Let us know if you will be visiting the store once it opens in the comments below!
