As perhaps the most unexpected announcement made during today's Nintendo Indies showcase presentation, Nintendo and Brace Yourself Games teamed up to introduce players to
Cadence of Hyrule - Crypt of the Necrodancer.
For those of you wondering,
Crypt of the Necrodancer is a roguelike rhythm game where players explore procedurally generated dungeons in order to get to the next level; pitting the player against mini bosses and other type of dangerous enemies.
Cadence of Hyrule - Crypt of the Necrodancer will be featuring, much like the name suggests, characters from
The Legend of Zelda series like Link and even Princess Zelda herself. The game will be taking players to a randomly generated Hyrule, where both the overworld and dungeons will be procedurally generated.
Besides the setting being that of
The Legend of Zelda,
Cadence of Hyrule - Crypt of the Necrodancer also sees a slight change in the art style, which fits Nintendo's aesthetic a bit more. The game still doesn't have an official release date but is expected to release exclusively for the Nintendo Switch in
spring of 2019.
