Nintendo has yet to reveal the Nintendo Switch 2, but accessory makers at CES (Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas this week have been showcasing replicas of the highly anticipated console. While not the official console, these replicas and models confirm many previous rumors from weeks earlier.

German publication Netzwelt has shared some details about the Switch 2 replica after visiting the booth for accessory maker Genki. The site was even able to hold the model, which Genki claims to be the "exact dimensions" of the Nintendo Switch 2.

The site notes that the Switch 2 "feels significantly larger in the hand" thanks to what is likely a larger screen. The size of the screen was compared to the Lenovo Legion Go, which offers an 8.8″ QHD display. The Switch 2's screen is estimated to measure roughly the same as that.

Once again, the Joy-Cons are detachable but a big change is that you can now remove them from the side instead of having to push them upwards. They don't attach magnetically to the replica but there are reports of plans for magnetic attachment, so that's still a possibility.

The replica of the right Joy-Con controller from Genki also features an additional button that's unlabeled on the model. There are theories that this new "C" button could stand for "Connect," perhaps allowing local players to join a game on the Switch 2 with their smartphone if they don't have their own controller. There are also theories that it could stand for "Chat," and pressing the button would open up a menu that allows you to choose various chat options such as video, text, or voice. Of course, it's possible that it's just another button and could simply exist to give Nintendo and game developers more functionality with its controller as needed.

Nintendo is expected to officially reveal the Nintendo Switch successor before the end of its current fiscal year, which ends in March 2025. However, the closer we get, the more we are learning about the highly anticipated console thanks to accessory manufacturers developing products for the new system.

The rumors and leaks don't just apply to the shape of the console, but the hardware itself. A previously leaked image appears to confirm a rumor that the Switch 2 will be powered by Nvidia hardware. Additionally, another leaked image seemed to show that the Switch 2 will come with a 60W charger, which means you won't be able to use the original Switch charger for it.

Back in November, it was claimed that Nintendo would reveal the Switch successor sometime in January 2025.  They've yet to do so, but with all of these leaks and now CES, it feels like everyone is talking about the Switch 2 except for Nintendo, the company we need to hear from.
