Iconoclasts is a 2D action platformer developed by Joakim Sandberg and published by Bifrost Entertainment. Currently available for the PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and Steam,
Iconoclasts was originally released on the 23rd of January.
The game features some
Metroidvania elements alongside some fast-paced action and lots of platforming challenges, harkening back to classic
Metroid games and
Castlevania: Symphony of the Night—where the subgenre gets its name from.
Earlier in April, the developer himself—Joakim Sandberg—announced via Twitter that
Iconoclasts would finally be making its way into the Nintendo Switch and today we have finally been given an official release date for the game, which will be available on the Nintendo eShop on the
2nd of August. He also mentioned that he would be adding—across all platforms— a feature that allows players to change the game's difficulty so that they can get past more difficult challenges without dying too often, as well as a new Boss Rush mode.
