Last week we reported that Nintendo would begin selling a different Nintendo Switch bundle that did away with the dock, HDMI and charging cables, and the Joy-Con Grip. While it was odd that they opted out of the charging dock—as well as the other features—it was not that unexpected given that Nintendo has already done something similar with other handheld consoles by not including AC Adapters.
It is important to note that the "
dockless" bundle is only an alternative to the one bundle that already exists and will not be replacing the one that comes with all of its accessories. In other words, it is a more economic version of the Nintendo Switch that would cost about¥5000less than the standard version—which roughly equates to $40USD.
Today we got some new information regarding the dockless bundle and it seems that Nintendo has no plans to bring it to the West. The information comes from a statement that Nintendo issued to
USGamer, which quite simply said that they "
have no plans to release this configuration in the Americas".
So, fans of The Big N should not worry about which Nintendo Switch to pick up since all of the bundles sold outside of Japan will include all the accessories out of the box and, instead, their only concern should be whether they want the gray or neon Switch.
