The Wonderful 101 is an action-adventure game developed by Platinum Games and published by Nintendo. Directed by Hideki Kamiya, the title released all the way back in 2013 exclusively for the Wii U. While
The Wonderful 101 certainly earned praise and acclaim, it unfortunately didn't sell all too well — likely for releasing on a platform of similar stature.
For a long while, Platinum Games and Hideki Kamiya have been teasing a Nintendo Switch port of
The Wonderful 101.
All the way back in April 2018, Kamiya made it clear that it's a possibility — should audiences show enthusiasm for such a thing. Now it seems that they're blatantly teasing that the port is on the way.
Platinum Games recently shared a photo to social media which features Kamiya as well as some interesting details that astute fans were able to pick up on. Can you spot them? Well, the monitor behind the game director reads
"1:01" and the date is set to October 1st — which shows up as yet another
"101." Though, they couldn't just leave it there; there's also a Nintendo Switch beside Kamiya.
Interesting indeed. Are fans reading into this too much? After all, there's a chance that this could simply be a joke — Kamiya is known for being quite a witty tease. We'll just have to wait and see how this develops — it has certainly gotten hopes up for the next Nintendo Direct.
