With the announcement that a new core Pokémon title was being developed for the Nintendo Switch, fans have been impatiently waiting for more news about the title. Recently The Pokémon company revealed two new games—also coming for the Nintendo Switch—called Let's Go Pikachu! and Let's Go Eeevee, although it wasn't the Pokémon title fans had been waiting for.

In a recent interview with Ryokuta2089, as reported by Siliconera, The Pokémon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara referred to the latest Pokémon titles Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee!, as well as the new RPG core Pokémon series. One of the things that he mentioned was the reason behind them being able to release a new Pokémon title at this time—considering the core Pokémon game is coming soon, as well—is because development had started when the Nintendo Switch launched, which has given them more than enough time to handle both titles.

Ishihara also mentions that capturing Pokémon in "Pokémon: Let's Go!" will be a tad different from what players are used to. "The process and tempo of catching Pokémon Let’s Go is completely different. You can swing the Joy-Con with a single hand to toss the Poké Ball, so it has a much different feel to it", Ishihara said—by also adding that in two-player mode, the other player can help catch Pokémon.

A very interesting detail is that Ishihara said that they're even considering adding new Pokémon given that Pokémon: Let's Go! is a remake of Pokémon Yellow. He also mentions that they plan to add new elements, as well as new Pokémon to go with the new looks and play style of the game.

Things get even more interesting when Mr. Ishihara addresses the new core Pokémon title by saying that the game will release in the second half of 2019—calling it a game that longtime fans can look forward to. He also says that the game will be completely different from Pokémon: Let's Go!

"The game will give a good understanding of what an evolved Pokémon game looks like after succeeding the traditions of Game Freak. We want to make Pokémon fans say ‘this is what I’ve been waiting for’ by delivering a brand-new product packed with gameplay elements and plenty of new Pokémon to encounter".

While the information isn't much, it will likely help fans rest assured that they're in for a treat with the new RPG Pokémon title. One of the reasons why they are delaying Pokémon may be because this year Nintendo has all their bets on Super Smash Bros. and they probably don't want to compete against themselves. In the meantime, Pokémon fans can still look forward to Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee! that is releasing this year.

Return to the Kanto region and experience a classic Pokémon journey in a whole new way with Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let's Go, Eevee! on Nintendo Switch!

Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee will be available for the Nintendo Switch on the 16th of November.
