FDG Entertainment's
Venture Kid is a game that draws heavily from the golden era of action platformers like
Mega Man,
Ducktales,
Super Mario Bros. and many others. It is an indie game that was initially released in 2015 for iOS, Android and PC and is now being released on the Nintendo Switch as a console exclusive. The announcement came from an official post on Twitter by FDG Entertainment.
The main charm of this game comes from the 8-bit inspired style and level design, which will make many players think of other classic games that used the same style(due to obvious technological limitations) back in the day.
Premise is simple: You're a kid named Andy and have to stop Dr. Teklov from building a super secret weapon disguise as a space fortress. If that doesn't reek of 80s and 90s goodness, I don't know what is.
Features:
-
9 action packed levels and bosses
-
Chiptune soundtrack by Matt Creamer (Retro City Rampage)
-
8 unique and useful Power-Ups to help you on your quest.
-
Many secret areas to find and explore
-
Authentic NES-look
Venture Kid is a lovingly crafted 8-bit retro action platformer that goes beyond just pixels and chiptunes. It shines with excellent level design, highly entertaining action levels, responsive controls and a great variety of bosses.
