Sega Ages is a series that compiles classic titles from the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis era, as well as some other popular arcade games developed by Sega.

This series was announced in April of this year and has, so far, added the original Sonic the Hedgehog and Lightening Force: Quest for the Darkstar, with Outrun coming out early in 2019, and Phantasy Star recently releasing as the new title for the Sega Ages lineup.

Sega also announced that the Sega Ages series will be bringing Space Harrier and Columns II to the Nintendo Switch, and today we have new information as the Japanese company reveals that Puyo Puyo and Puyo Puyo 2 are the new games to join the lineup.

According to a translation of the tweet by Sega and Puyo Puyo producer Mizuki Hosoyomada, both Puyo Puyo and Puyo Puyo 2 are based on their Arcade version, and will even feature some Online features like multiplayer. The games still haven't been given an official release date but it is likely that they will be coming out next year.

Keep an eye out as we announce more quality classic ports coming to Switch like Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Out Run, Space Harrier, Columns II and Thunder Force AC, and of course, Phantasy Star.

Puyo Puyo and Puyo Puyo 2 still don't have an official release date.
