Square Enix have always excelled at making role-playing games, but they arguably released the best titles back in the early 90s for 16-bit platforms, especially the Super Nintendo. Now,
Octopath Traveler is a return to form as Square Enix opted to go with a 16-bit art style combined with graphics, lighting effects, and sound for their newest game on the Nintendo Switch.
Octopath Traveler has had RPG fans excited since the game was first announced during the Nintendo Switch presentation back in January 2017. It isn't just the art style that has fans excited, though, since the premise of it is that you take control of one out of eight available characters, which means you'll get to enjoy eight different stories which, at the same time, may end up feeling like you're playing eight different and intertwined games. Needless to say, there is a lot of hype surrounding this game and for good reason.
Square Enix have released a bunch of new in-game pics, as well as a concept art pic for H'aanit the hunter, for
Octopath Traveler and it keeps making fans excited for the game, especially because these screenshots look just beautiful.
Eight travelers. Eight adventures. Eight roles to play in a new world brought to life by Square Enix. Explore each traveler’s story and use their abilities in and out of battle. Will you expand your horizons as the Merchant or track down a traitor as the Warrior? Where will you go? Who will join you? You alone can choose your path.
Octopath Traveler will release exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on the 13th of July.
