SUPER SMASH BROS. ULTIMATE Will Finally Allow Players To Toggle Off Stage Hazards

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is finally giving a solution to players who don't like stage hazards but don't want to play in the Omega version of the stages. Check it out!

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is making a lot of improvements to the series by adding things to the game that actually make it more competitive—not to mention that it's also bringing back every character that's ever been featured in a Smash Bros. game.

The game is adding new air dodges, punishing players who excessively dodge by reducing invincibility frames, easy access to short hops, and changing how Perfect Shield works, amongst many other changes—making the game easier to pick up but difficult to master. But this isn't everything the game is adding to make the experience better as stage hazards can now be toggled off.

The news was reveled during the Treehouse Live at the E3, where it was said that stage hazards can now be toggled off, thus making players enjoy the stages without having to constantly worry about getting unfairly attacked by the stage itself. When it comes to stage hazards, the Yellow Devil in Mega Man's stage comes to mind right away. That's one of the stages that becomes slightly annoying to play due to this infamous character from the Mega Man series showing up and randomly attacking players who are in the midst of a heated battle. While it is easy to predict, it can be frustrating to deal with.

The only way around when dealing with stage hazards was to switch to the Omega version of the stages, which turned them into a single platform that removes extra floating platforms and stage hazards—giving the stage a more competitive feel ala Final Destination. While this could be ideal for some players, others still like to have the extra platforms and overall design of the original stage and now it will be possible by simply removing stage hazards and keeping the stage's structure intact.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate definitely lives up to its name as it does seem to want to offer the ultimate Smash Bros. experience to players—while also making it accessible for newcomers—and we cannot wait for the game to come out, and just in time for the Holidays.

Introducing the newest and most expansive Super Smash Bros. ever! Super Smash Bros. Ultimate arrives December 7, 2018.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on the 7th of December.
