Mario Tennis Aces is introducing us to two more character types. This time it's turn for the Powerful and Defensive characters to get the spotlight.
The official Nintendo Treehouse log have posted some new information on the characters for Mario Tennis Aces, as well as sharing some in-game screenshots. The characters shown off are Wario, Bowser, Donkey Kong and the Chain Chomp, all belonging to the Power class. Representing the Defensive class we have Waluigi and Bowser Jr. in his Koopa Clown Car.
Power Characters:
"Powerful characters can dish out shots with very high speed. Their movement may be slower than some of the other character types, but when their racket finds their target, watch out! That ball is going and gone. This character type is for you if you want to keep the pressure on your opponents with an offensive onslaught."
"
When up against Powerful characters, exploit their slower speed by aiming your shots far away from their position, where they hopefully cannot reach."
Defensive Characters:
"
Waluigi and Bowser Jr. (or his Koopa Clown Car, rather) use their extendable arms to strategically block, attack, or gra—wait, sorry, wrong game. They use their long arms to return all kinds of shots! It’s tough to hit a ball out of reach for these folks."
When facing these type of characters is best that you try throwing some Zone Shots or Special Shots at them because their horizontal game is strong and regular shots won't do the trick.
As usual, the game is allowing players to choose between a wide range of characters and each will feel and play different, so it is important that you get used to using a specific type and know how to play against every type of character. This added to the Career Mode that has been hinted at, plus some of the "RPG" elements that the game will have are certainly making this a game that fans of the franchise could not pass up.
Unleash an arsenal of shots and strategies in all-out tennis battles with friends, family, and fan-favorite Mushroom Kingdom characters. Whether you play locally, online, or using simple motion controls, intense rallies await!
Mario Tennis Aces will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on the 22nd of June.
