Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was revealed a few days ago and it already has people excited for it by bringing back every single character that has ever been featured in a
Super Smash Bros. game. We have also found out that there are a number of significant changes made to the combat in order to keep things fresh, as well as accessible for newcomers.
While the promise of every character coming back for the ultimate brawl is quite, well, promising, we didn't quite get confirmation that every stage featured in previous versions of
Super Smash Bros. will be making a comeback but the more gameplay they showed, the more it seems that this is the case—as
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate lives up to its name and aims to bring the ultimate
Super Smash Bros. experience to players.
Now, thanks to the people over at
GameXplain, we got a closer look at some of the stages in
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate that originally came from the
Super Smash Bros. 3DS game. As a bit of background, the last version of Smash Bros. was released for the 3DS and Wii U, both being essentially the same game but featuring slightly different content exclusive to each version. The stages were amongst the exclusive things featured in each game. The Nintendo 3DS version seemed to have more 3DS-inspired stages while the Wii U version featured stages almost strictly from games released in home consoles.
The 3DS stages are now making a comeback and have been redesigned in order to make them look nicer, and more detailed, and this new video from GameXplain shows us the differences—as well as the similarities—between
Super Smash Bros. 3DS and
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
