Although we probably will never play the Xbox One-exclusive Scalebound, that title may not be completely dead, as PlatinumGames' upcoming Astral Chain seems more and more like a full-blown spiritual successor to that unfortunately canceled video game (featuring a bizarre-looking dragon).

In Astral Chain, the player takes on the role of two twin protagonist who will have to do their very best to save the world from an alien invasion from another dimension. Considering that it's definitely a PlatinumGames title, it shouldn’t be surprising that Chain will be focused more on delivering a mesmerizing and action-packed gameplay experience rather than telling an overly complicated story.

Thanks to the Japanese Nintendo eShop, we can take a closer look at Astral Chain's key art that showcases the aforementioned duo and what seems to be the game's main antagonists. Given that Astral Chain is set for release this summer, more details on the upcoming Nintendo Switch-exclusive game should be released in the coming months, maybe even with its own presentation at E3 2019.

Without further ado, be sure to check out the newly surfaced Astral Chain key art down below:

Astral Chain is a new action game from PlatinumGames, the creators of the Bayonetta™ series. As part of a police special forces unit in a multi-cultural futuristic city, players work together with a humanoid special weapon, Legion, in a synergetic action system of battle and exploration.

Astral Chain will be available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch on the 30th of August.
