Although Nintendo and Microsoft have lately been collaborating more than they ever have in the past to undermine PlayStation 4's position, hardly anyone would expect that one of their unexpected cooperation's fruits would be the ability to play classic Xbox titles on the Switch. While nothing has been confirmed just yet, it looks like one of the best Xbox (and Windows 10) exclusives of the decade, Moon Studios GmbH's
Ori and the Blind Forest, will indeed be playable on Nintendo’s hit console.
As reported by Gematsu, a Switch version
Blind Forest has appeared in at least one United Kingdom wholesale database under the distribution of THQ Nordic. Considering that Nordic has published plenty of Xbox One games on Steam (such as
ReCore: Definitive Edition, Disneyland Adventures, and
Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection), this particular choice of distribution would be hardly surprising.
It's not the first time we've heard about the Switch version of
Blind Forest, as
Jeuxvideo revealed last week that
Microsoft is indeed planning to bring more than a hundred of their first-party video games to the NS, including not only the original
Ori, but also
Cuphead,
Forza, Gears of War, even
Halo titles.
The forest of Nibel is dying. After a powerful storm sets a series of devastating events in motion, an unlikely hero must journey to find his courage and confront a dark nemesis to save his home. “Ori and the Blind Forest” tells the tale of a young orphan destined for heroics, through a visually stunning action-platformer crafted by Moon Studios for PC. Featuring hand-painted artwork, meticulously animated character performance, and a fully orchestrated score, “Ori and the Blind Forest” explores a deeply emotional story about love and sacrifice, and the hope that exists in us all.
Ori and the Blind Forest is available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, and Microsoft Windows NOW!
