Fans of the
Guilty Gear franchise will now be able to play the game on-the-go as Arc System Works has confirmed that they are currently working on a port of
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R(I know, it's quite the mouthful) for the Nintendo Switch.
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R is one of the many revisions of the
Guilty Gear XX game that was initially released in 2002. Arc System Works are known for constantly releasing revisions that balance characters out, or offer new stages and game modes. As a matter of fact,
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R is the 5th revision of
Guilty Gear XX and was released in 2007, meaning that since the game came out, it got an update every year since 2002.
More recently they have been updating the
Guilty Gear Xrd series, which has seen 3 updates(-
Sign-, -
Revelator-, and
REV 2) since it was first released. All of these updates being either in DLC or physical form. The current one being
Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2, which is the one that fans were hoping to see on the Nintendo Switch.
While
Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 for the Nintendo Switch is still on the table, fans of the franchise will have to wait a bit longer for that announcement, and what better than to wait by playing
Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus R on-the-go now that the game has officially been confirmed for the Switch.
The news comes from an announcement made by Arc System Works during the Nexon Developers Conference in South Korea where
Guilty Gear series creator and programmer, Daisuke Ishiwatari and Hideyuki Anbe respectively, made an appearance and announced the game was in development for the Nintendo Switch.
The game is also confirmed to include some original tracks included in the Korean version of
Guilty Gear XX #Reload by the late Shin Hae-chul.
While the has been confirmed to come out in Asia, we will have to keep waiting for a worldwide release announcement, but the game is likely to be officially announced for the West soon.
