In the first surprise of the night, Nintendo and Marvel have apparently teamed up to be
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order to Nintendo Switch. The reveal came via a trailer that showed some intense action featuring our beloved heroes teaming up to take on The Black Order, which should sound pretty familiar to you comic book fans.
The Black order, also known as the Cull Obsidian, is the group of ruthless aliens that serve Thanos.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will introduce a new storyline that sees heroes and villains unite across the Marvel Universe to find the Infinity Stones before Thanos. It sounds pretty close to what we just experience on the big screen via the MCU's
Avengers: Infinity War.
Marvel teases that you'll be able to get "closer to the action" with an over-the-shoulder "Heroic Camera" perspective, a first for the series that offers a more immersive feel.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will, of course, support single-player and multiplayer on up to four systems.
The MARVEL ULTIMATE ALLIANCE series returns for the first time in 10 years—with a new action RPG—exclusively on the Nintendo Switch™ system! Assemble your ultimate team of Marvel Super Heroes from a huge cast including the Avengers, the Guardians of the Galaxy, the X-Men, and more! Team up with friends to prevent galactic devastation at the hands of the mad cosmic tyrant Thanos and his ruthless warmasters, The Black Order.
Perhaps the most surprising part about the reveal is that
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will only be coming to the Nintendo Switch and not Xbox One or PS4. The lack of the phrase "timed exclusive" leads me to believe it will remain only available on Nintendo's hybrid console.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will be available in 2019, which is fitting since that's when the currently untitled
Avengers 4 hits theaters.
