SNK is celebrating their 40th anniversary this year and, in order to commemorate the occasion, they are releasing the
SNK 40th Anniversary Collection on the Nintendo Switch. Now, we finally have an official release date for the game—as well as a brand new trailer to go with—and the game will become available on the
13th of November.
The
Anniversary Collection includes some of SNK's most memorable Arcade classics such as
Athena,
Ikari III - The Rescue,
Psycho Soldier, and
Victory Road, amongst others. Most of these classic games will actually feature a Home version, as well as the Arcade version—giving fans the chance to relive these classics the way they remember them when playing at the arcade.
So far, there are 13 officially revealed games in the
SNK 40th Anniversary Collection, but the official site for the game reassures that there are still more titles to be announced. It is still a mystery whether these unannounced games will be included at the game's launch or if they will be added via DLC later on.
NIS America and SNK have also announced that there will be a
SNK 40th Anniversary Collection Limited Edition that will include a Hard Cover Art Book, mandatory Collector's Box, and the game's Official Soundtrack. Pre-orders for the
Limited Edition are currently available at the
SNK Online Store.
