Just yesterday we reported that Super Mario 3D All-Stars had already managed to dethrone Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics' MARVEL's Avengers in the UK charts, which is quite the feat for a game that doesn't really bring anything new to the table, other than slightly enhanced versions of 3D Super Mario Bros. titles.
Nintendo has included Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy in this recently released collection, and that's all it took for fans of the princess-rescuing plumber to get excited for Super Mario 3D All-Stars; not going to lie, I'm in the same boat myself.
Things have gotten a little bit more interesting, as new information shared by Head of Games B2B at ReedPop Christopher Dring reveals that Super Mario 3D All-Stars is Nintendo's 15th biggest video game launch of all time in the United Kingdom, as well as the second biggest launch for a Super Mario Bros. platformer title.
To put things into persepctive, the critically acclaimed Super Mario Odyssey is Nintendo's 14th biggest video game launch, so Super Mario 3D All-Stars has not disappointed in this particular regard, especially since the game was only announced weeks before its release last Friday.
This is not even the end of it, as Dring also reveals that Super Mario 3D All-Stars has also managed to become the third biggest launch of 2020 in the United Kingdom, behind Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part II and Nintendo's very own Animal Crossing: New Horizons; again, not too shabby for a collection of classic Super Mario Bros. titles.
Three Mario adventures in one collection jumps on to Nintendo Switch! With HD visuals, take Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy on the go in Super Mario 3D All-Stars. The collection arrives September 18 as a limited release until the end of March 2021.
Super Mario 3D All-Stars is available for the Nintendo Switch, for a limited time, until the 31st of March, 2021.
