Just weeks after dropping a few major bombshells at San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios is gearing up for another night of big reveals as Kevin Feige takes the stage in the Honda Center at the D23 Expo and shares a sneak peek at what's to come in the next stage of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Unlike SDCC, which had Marvel Studios hold the spotlight, tonight's Disney Entertainment Showcase will also highlight upcoming film and television projects from Walt Disney Studios, Pixar Animation Studios, 20th Century Studios, and Lucasfilm - which is rumored to include a first look at Star Wars: Starfighter starring the MCU's recently announced Ghost Rider, Ryan Gosling.
As for Marvel, a new Avengers: Doomsday trailer is widely expected to drop online sometime during or after the presentation and it also seems highly likely we'll be getting the first trailer for the Paul Bettany-fronted VisionQuest, which is expected to launch in October.
After that, the big question is whether Feige is ready to formally announce his X-Men movie and/or potentially reveal some of the main cast members, which currently includes Sadie Sink, Kit Connor, and Samara Weaving. There are a few other rumored names floating out there, but nothing official just yet.
We're not quite sure when Marvel will take the stage tonight, but here's the full description of tonight's presentation:
The world-class storytellers of The Walt Disney Company will take center stage at the Honda Center for the Disney Entertainment Showcase. Guests can expect surprise celebrity appearances, exclusive first looks at upcoming films and series, exciting new announcements, and unforgettable musical performances. The star-studded presentation will celebrate the stories audiences love while offering an exclusive preview of what’s coming next across Disney’s movies, television, games, and live stage productions.
The showcase will run from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm PST (10:00 pm to 12:00 am EST)!
