Super Mario 3D All-Stars was released this past Friday, giving Nintendo Switch owners the chance to play three of the most critically acclaimed titles in the Super Mario Bros. series. The games included in the collection are Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine, and Super Mario Galaxy; all of which got some slight enhancements that make them look better than ever.
While the changes made to the games are kept to a minimum, the Super Mario 3D All-Stars collection has been very well-received by fans of the series, and is also a great starting point for newcomers to the series who may not have played any of them at all.
All of the popularity that Super Mario 3D All-Stars has seen since it released last week isn't that surprising if we keep in mind Super Mario 64 is considered to have influenced the video game industry, Super Mario Galaxy is often listed as one of the best games ever made, and Super Mario Sunshine has never been re-released.
Today Ukie has revealed that the recently released Super Mario 3D All-Stars has already entered the UK charts. Not only that, but Nintendo's Super Mario Bros. collection has also managed to take the spot from Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics' MARVEL's Avengers.
MARVEL's Avengers was released three weeks ago, and it had been leading the UK charts since launch, so it is only natural to see sales decreasing, but it is still quite an impressive feat for Super Mario 3D All-Stars to jump its way into the number one spot in the United Kingdom.
Unfortunately, Ukie doesn't reveal the number of copies sold of either of the aforementioned titles, but it is still great news for Nintendo to see the game selling that well this early on. Now we have to wait how the game performs in other regions, and hopefully get some proper sales numbers to help us quantify this better.
