Super Mario Maker 2 has become just as much of a success as its predecessor; something that was to be expected, considering how well-regarded the original
Super Mario Maker was, and how much its sequel improves on the series' gameplay by adding even more options.
Earlier this week, in fact, it was reported that
Super Mario Maker 2 had already managed to stay in the number 1 spot for two weeks straight — according to video game sales chart in the United Kingdom — and dethroning Activision's
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled.
A new report by the NPD Group has revealed that Nintendo's critically acclaimed level-making title is currently the best-selling game of June, once again beating out
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled and even NetherRealm Studios'
Mortal Kombat 11.
Perhaps what's even more interesting is that digital sales for
Super Mario Maker 2 were not included, while both digital and physical sales for
Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled and
Mortal Kombat 11 were considered; making this even more of an accomplishment for Nintendo.
