In March of this year, during a surprise Nintendo Direct Mini presentation, Nintendo revealed that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate would be getting a new fighter that comes from the ARMS series — which is one of the company's most recent intellectual properties.
At the time of the Nintendo Direct Mini presentation, Nintendo didn't reveal exactly which character from ARMS will be joining the fight, although fans have already been speculating that it may be either Spring Man or Ribbon Girl; depending on which one it is, the other will be its Echo Fighter counterpart.
Today Nintendo has announced that a 35-minute long presentation for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will be streamed on Monday the 22nd of June at 7:00AM Pacific Time, in which Super Smash Bros. series creator Masahiro Sakurai himself will finally reveal who the ARMS character is, and possible release date.
Considering Nintendo's history with these Super Smash Bros. announcements, it is also very likely that the ARMS character will be releasing rather sooner than later; maybe the week after the presentation, or perhaphs after the presentation is over.
This presentation will also give us an in-depth look at all of the moves this mysterious new fighter will be including; all in classic Sakurai fashion, of course — where he plays the game, and shows off what he can do with these new fighters. For those hoping to see one more reveal, we have some disappointing news, since Nintendo has also confirmed that no other characters will be revealed during or after the presentation.
