We have some great news for Super Mario 3D All-Stars players, as Nintendo Japan has confirmed that an upcoming update will finally address the issue with the games' inverted camera controls, which is a feature that has been clamoured by fans since the collection released last month.
According to Nintendo, this update is expected to roll out next month — on Tuesday the 17th of November, to be more precise — and will be giving players the option to inverte camera controls accross all three games included in Super Mario 3D All-Stars.
Now, this has been announced by Nintendo Japan, and while it isn't specified that this update will also be released here in the West, chances are that this will be the case — it would be ridiculous if it wasn't — but we don't know whether it will become available on the same day.
Super Mario 3D All-Stars released a bit over a month ago, and players have been complaining about not having a feature to invert camera controls since day one. What's interesting about this is that the original versions of the games included in the collection didn't feature this option either, and Nintendo has changed how camera controls work in the games.
While it is easier for players to adapt to these controls, the biggest offender here is Super Mario Sunshine, since the Y axis was always inverted in the original, and it is mind-boggling to see Nintendo thinking it would be a good idea to change these controls in the first place.
UPDATE: Nintendo has confirmed thqat the update is also releasing here in the West. What's more, they have revealed that it will be rolling out a day before it rolls out in japan, becoming available on Monday the 16th of November.
