According to the latest rumour doing the rounds, it seems that Konami may be working on one, or more, entries in their long-neglected survival horror series:
Silent Hill. It is worth reminding, however, to take this news with a pinch of salt, since none of this has been officially confirmed, or even hinted at, by Konami.
The information actually comes from Twitter user
@AestheticGamer1 — an insider that has a very decent track record when it comes to accurately leaking information about unannounced video games — who has claimed that a couple of
Silent Hill games are in the works, and that one of these titles is meant to be some sort of a soft-reboot for the series.
Even more interesting information is revealed, as the insider also reveals that the other rumoured
Silent Hill game would be an episodic title in the same vein of the ones developed by TellTale Games; the insider, however, does say that they only know of the game's existence, so it is still early to tell if these could release this year or not — although they think this may be the case.
Again, this is only but a rumour, but it is still great news if it were true. The
Silent Hill series could use a proper revival in the same way that Resident Evil did, but only time will tell if Konami can actually deliver in the same way that Capcom did.
