Thanks to the enormous and quite spectacular Walmart Canada's leak from Wednesday, we know that the continuations of
Assassin's Creed, Splinter Cell, Forza: Horizon, Gears of War, Just Cause, Rage, and
Borderlands series will most likely appear during this year's E3 in Los Angeles. There's a big chance that the American multinational retail corporation's failure has ruined many publisher’s surprises.
Motherboard has reached Walmart Canada for comment and director of corporate affairs for Walmart Canada Anika Malik explained in an e-mail that
“Walmart experienced a technical glitch that allowed certain items to be posted to our website for a short period of time. The items posted were speculative in nature and only game publishers can confirm the announcement of a release. We apologize for any confusion this has caused. Like the gaming community, Walmart looks forward with anticipation to those announcements.”
It's obvious that Walmart would try to fix the awkward situation and change the current narration, and only time will tell whether this leak turns out to be true or not. The only publisher that has reacted to Walmart's revelations so far is Bethesda, the home of
Fallout and
Wolfenstein.
Rage's official twitter account had immediately reacted to the leak and posted an "
upgraded version" of the cover changing the font and adding some really specific notes. Check out the publisher's latest "
update" down below:
