As is tradition,
Mega May has just started and we should expect to get a lot of news regarding Capcom's Blue Bomber, especially now that this year they are celebrating Mega Man's 30th Anniversary.
To celebrate Mega Man's anniversary, Capcom have already announced a few games that mostly compile classic titles like
Mega Man Legacy Collection 1 and 2, and the upcoming
Mega Man X Legacy Collection 1 and 2, not to mention the highly anticipated brand new title in the
Mega Man franchise,
Mega Man 11.
To top things off, Capcom and iam8bit are re-releasing two of the most memorable games in the Mega Man franchise.
Mega Man 2, which is widely considered to be the best game in the main series, and
Mega Man X, that single-handedly redefined the franchise by improving on it in almost every aspect, are getting limited editions that will likely leave fans more than satisfied.
As posted on the iam8bit Twitter page,
Mega Man 2 and
Mega Man X will come with their respective classic NES and SNES cartridges, as well as premium instruction booklets, retro pack-in surprises and the chance to get one of the one thousand cartridges that glow in the dark. There are a total of 8500 copies and only one thousand glow-in-the-dark cartridges for each game, which will be packaged randomly.
The one thing that has got a bit of flak on social media is the package's price since each Limited Edition will go for $100 USD and fans are not ecstatic about that news. Regardless, it is still a great chance for fans to get their hands on one of those limited editions and some will even be lucky enough to get the cartridges that glow in the dark.
Capcom and iam8bit are kicking off “Mega May” with the announcement of two nostalgic Mega Man® collectibles: the Mega Man® 2 - 30th Anniversary Classic Cartridge and Mega Man® X - 30th Anniversary Classic Cartridge. These brand new, limited edition reproductions are now available for pre-order and are expected to ship late September 2018.
