Capcom's long-awaited
Mega Man 11 was finally released last week, bringing the Blue Bomber back with a brand new adventure, new Rboto Masters for Mega Man to defeat, and the new Double Gear mechanic that makes our hero faster, and more powerful than ever before.
Mega Man 11 is exactly what fans had been waiting for all of these years, especially since the last two entries in the series—while still being great games—didn't really offer anything new; even keeping the same 8-Bit aesthetic from the original games on the Nintendo Entertainment System.
The new developing team at Capcom wanted to keep all of the core elements of the series intact, while still adding something new for players. Even the character himself was redesigned in order to make him look "cooler" by changing some of his body proportions and giving him a more mature look. All of this was done by
Mega Man Battle Network series' veteran character designer, and
Mega Man 11 Art Director, Yuji Ishihara.
Today, in celebration of
Mega Man 11's release, Yuji Ishihara has released a special illustration of Mega Man, which flaunts the Blue Bomber's new design as he looks ready to take on Dr. Wily's evil Robot Masters.
