While nothing has been officially confirmed just yet, it looks like Volition's flamboyant Saints Row game series is not completely dead – at the very least according to the publishing team at Deep Silver.

With Saints Row: The Third's Nintendo Switch port launching yesterday, there's a chance that we will hear more from the Saints Row crew in the coming months. As revealed by Deep Silver, the publisher "has exciting things ahead for the Saints, you don't want to miss out!," suggesting that a proper fifth entry in the long-running series may be announced relatively soon – maybe even at this year's E3 in LA.

As a reminder, Fenix Studios, Koch Media, and Occupant Entertainment are producing a movie adaptation of Saints Row that will be directed by F. Gary Gray, the helmer of Straight Outta Compton and The Fate of the Furious. When it comes to the movie's script, it is being writer by Greg Russo, who’s also scripting the Mortal Kombat reboot at WB. and a Resident Evil reimagination for Constantin Films.

At the time of writing, Deep Silver had not revealed any official plans to revive the Saints Row series.
