Introducing a yearly segment where all the cinematics released in 2015 clash in a battle royal for the best cinematic of 2015 award. Yes, the award is completely imaginary and irrelevant, but it is extremely fun to rank all the awesomeness that has graced the web since the beginning of the year.

5. Star Wars Battlefront:

Star Wars Battlefront 3

This trailer isn't really a cinematic, but the fact that they used the in game engine to create the trailer was fantastic and high quality. It is to bad that the game itself has mixed reviews. The trailer, however, got everyone really excited to play the game. The game itself is really fun when you have a group to play with, but you can easily be burned out by yourself.

This trailer was also one of the first Star Wars Related trailers that started the year of Star Wars. Disney and Lucasfilm have been marketing the crap out of everything and have been doing it right. The trailer is a testament of the dedication that Disney and Lucasfilm are putting into the Star Wars Franchise.

4. Rise of the Tomb Raider:

There aren't many adventure games that capture the general public's attention outside Tomb Raider and Uncharted franchises. Rise of the Tomb Raider has done it in a big way. Capitalizing on the tremendous success of the reboot, Square Enix has done it again with Rise of the Tomb Raider. Who would have thought that a developer would make a bear chase so thrilling.

Experience high-octane action moments, conquer beautifully hostile environments, engage in brutal guerrilla combat, and explore awe-inspiring deadly tombs in the evolution of survival action. In Rise of the Tomb Raider, Lara becomes more than a survivor as she embarks on her first great Tomb Raiding expedition.

3. World of Warcraft Legion:

You can count on Blizzard making one heck of a cinematic trailer. Yes, I know that Warcraft is all about magic and other far-fetched things, but in my opinion I think the flying airships ruin the game. However, they do make them pretty freaking awesome in the cinematic trailer. Is it weird to say that Sylvanas is hot?

World of Warcraft: Legion ushers in an era of unprecedented conflict for the Alliance and the Horde as the Burning Legion’s crusade against creation enters a terrifying new stage. The expansion is loaded with features and content that will transform players into Azeroth’s elite vanguard against the shadow.

2. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt:

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

If it wasn't for one of the best cinematic trailers ever this could have easily been the best trailer of 2015, but it falls just sort of the number one spot. This trailer really capitalizes on the decisions that Geralt of Rivia has to make as a Witcher. The battle that ensues encapsulates the essence of the game.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is CD PROJEKT RED’s most ambitious endeavour up to date. Set within a truly open world, the game puts you in the role of a wandering bounty hunter and monster slayer, Geralt of Rivia. In The Witcher, you take on the greatest contract of your life - tracking down the Child of Prophecy, a living weapon that can alter the shape of the world.

STAR WARS: The Old Republic – Knights of the Fallen Empire:

This easily could be one of the best cinematic trailers of all time. There aren't many trailers where you experience all types of emotions and sometimes at once. Two twin boys growing up and doing pretty much anything for the approval of their father is popcorn worthy! The family struggle really comes to light in the latest update for Star Wars: The Old Republic and it shows in the trailer.

In Star Wars: The Old Republic – Knights of the Fallen Empire, you will become the Outlander, a veteran of the Great Galactic War, travelling to the outer rim of the galaxy. There you will come face-to-face with a new threat, Emperor Valkorion and his Eternal Empire, only to discover that his dark destiny is tied to your own. You will lead the fight to save the galaxy but it is clear from your first encounter with the Eternal Empire that you will need help; you must recruit a powerful team of Companions – and build an Alliance.
