While we know that Guerilla Games is currently working hard on a sequel to 2017's hit
Horizon: Zero Dawn (Janina Gavankar, the actress who voiced Tatai in the acclaimed
Zero Dawn expansion
Frozen Wilds, accidentally revealed that information at last week's Star Wars Celebration), it looks like the Amsterdam-based game developer is producing one more, yet-to-be-announced game at the moment.
According to new job listings, Guerilla is looking for artists who will help the team "
build a robust backend that can scale up to serve many concurrent users," "
work on systems like matchmaking, tournaments, clans and leaderboards," and "
integrate the game servers with the PlayStation Network and other third party services," indicating that the studio is creating an online-oriented title.
Considering that
Killzone: Shadow Fall, Guerilla's latest video game that featured a proper multiplayer component, launched back in 2013, many fans would definitely welcome a new entry in that long--running shooter series with open hands. Naturally, Guerrilla may also be developing a completely new IP, that may very well be a PlayStation 5 launch title, just like
Shadow Fall was the base PlayStation 4's.
At the time of writing, Guerilla Games had not revealed any official plans to make a new
Killzone game.
Set thirty years after the events of the Killzone trilogy, the world of Killzone Shadow Fall is a very different place. Forced together by circumstance, the two rival factions of the Helghast and the Vektans live side by side in a futuristic city, divided by a vast wall. Tensions are high, and a war can spark at any moment. In the midst of this all stands a Shadow Marshall, the most special of the special forces, tasked with maintaining the delicate balance.
Killzone: Shadow Fall is available fro PlayStation 4 NOW!
