Metal Gear Solid series creator Hideo Kojima has recently revealed that he received two Guinness World Records as the most followed video game director on social media: "The most followers on Instagram" and "the most followers on Twitter."

Hideo Kojima's Instagram account, according to the Guinness World Records certificate, has 888,539 followers, while his Twitter account has a staggering 2,813,385 followers. It is worth mentioning that only subscribers to Kojima's account in English were counted; his account in Japanese has a bit over 810 thousand followers.

While most of Kojima's fanbase comes from the Metal Gear Solid series, there are a bunch of players that will be first exposed to his work via the recently released Death Stranding; a game that will more than likely send even more followers to his social media accounts.
