We have some exciting news for players out there, as IO Interactive has just announced that a brand-new, and mysterious new project will be revealed tomorrow Thursday the 19th of November at 6:00 AM Pacific Time / 9:00 AM Eastern Time / 3:00 PM Central European Time.
The Danish video game developer reveals that the announcement of this mysterious new project will be made via social media, and fans will be able to watch it on IO Interactive's official YouTube channel. Unfortunately, nothing else was shared by the developer, so it's anybody's guess what this new project is even about.
IO Interactive is well-known for their work on the critically acclaimed Hitman series, and this year just happens to be the series' 20th anniversary, so it is plausible that this new project is actually a brand-new Hitman game.
Now, the possibility of this new project actually being a new entry in the Hitman series is rather low, considering that IO Interactive announced Hitman III back in June of this year, and announcing yet another entry in the series would be quite bold of them.
Under their belt, IO Interactive has mostly got Hitman-related projects, but they have also worked on Freedom Fighters(2003), Kane & Lynch: Dead Men(2007), Mini Ninjas(2009), and Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days(2010); with the latter being the last non-Hitman game the studio has developed.
Could it be that the studio plans to bring back the Kane & Lynch series, is it possible that Freedom Fighters or Mini Ninjas could be getting a sequel. We'll just have to wait until tomorrow to find out, but the prospect of a brand-new intellectual property, in my humble opinion, is definitely more appealing.
