In The Wake Of Vivendi Selling Off Ubisoft Holdings, The French Publisher's Stock Hits All-Time High

Ubisoft's CEO Yves Guillemot announced two days ago that the publisher's fight for its independence is over as Vivendi SA, the company which used to have shares in Activision Blizzard and tried really hard to take over Ubisoft, has decided to sell all its remaining shares (27.3% stake) to the Guillemot family, Chinese Tencent and the Relationship Investing arm of Ontario Teachers' Public Equities division.

The deal has caused a massive movement in the stock market. After the deal report, Ubisoft's shares have hit the French publisher's all-time high. As of today, you need to pay more than €72 for one share, meaning that the stock is now up almost 90% over the last year and is trading up above 4,5% so far. “At under one week from the release of the very much awaited Far Cry 5, this is excellent news for all, like a divorce that was taking time to finalise. The Ubisoft group can now fully devote itself to accelerating its development and consolidating its position in the sector," said Louis Capital Markets.

Ubisoft's future has never looked so bright with the announcements of Skull & Bones, Far Cry 5, The Crew 2, Tom Clancy's The Division 2, Beyond Good & Evil 2 and the support of Rainbow Six: Siege, Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, For Honor, Assassin's Creed: Origins, and more!
