Magic: The Gathering's long history has revealed that heh company behind the hit card game is never out of ideas for stories, characters, or decks. With each new year comes another 12 months of possibility for the franchise.
Wizards of the West Coast has recently unveiled a massive slate of reveals for the property for 2021, which includes a whole slate of decks, which can be seen above. Spring of 2021 will see the release of Strixhaven – The most elite university in the Multiverse, while summer will bring Adventures in the Forgotten Realms – Dungeons & Dragons comes to Magic. Fall will release the deck, Innistrad (two unnamed sets), which brings back Werewolves and Vampires just in time for Halloween while winter will bring Kaldheim – Magic’s Viking world. Time Spiral Remastered and Modern Horizons 2 were also announced but not given a release window.
The Secret Lair line is also bringing in Yargle Day and fantastic collaboration with AMC's The Walking Dead. There is no further news for it at the moment, but the MTG Secret Lair official Twitter will be the best place for updates. Magic: The Gathering Arena has also had more announcements given for its upcoming mobile release, along with the Zendikar Rising deck reveal through a cinematic trailer!
Zendikar Rising will bring over 20 new cards and some new mechanics such as Party and Modal Double-Faced Cards while bringing back classic mechanics like Kicker and Landfall. We would love to hear your thoughts on the news, and don't forget to check out the new trailer below!
