Comicbook fans are likely to get excited about this news, as NetEase and Marvel have announced today that they will be collaborating in hopes to introduce us to new games, comicbooks, and even TV shows.
NetEase founder and CEO, William Ding, released a statement saying that "Having admired the work Marvel has created over the years, we are excited to incorporate these beloved stories and characters into world-class entertainment content for global fans,"while also adding that "Adhering to NetEase’s brand statement of ‘Passion of Gamers’, we will work hard to deliver the type of high-quality content that game players and Marvel fans will be pleased to see."
Marvel Entertainment President, Dan Buckley, stated that NetEase is their perfect fit to help them get more people invested in the Marvel Universe; revealing that they're very excited to share more news about this new content they're working on.
"Marvel’s Super Heroes have inspired an entire universe of storytelling that resonates across today’s media – and games are one of the best ways to experience those stories. As a global leader in online games, NetEase is the perfect fit to help bring the Marvel Universe to more fans around the world. We can’t wait to share more about the exciting new games and other content that will be developed with this partnership."
While the announcement is quite recent, it is still likely that we'll get more news about this new partnership between Marvel and NetEase In June during this year's E3; maybe even a few video game announcements. Regardless, this is great news for Marvel fans, as this means that more games are inevitably coming their way in the next few years; hopefully sometime soon.
