The plot thickens as new information regarding the recently delayed Metroid Prime 4 points to the game's development being a complete, and utter mess that led them to bring in Retro Studios to take over the project.

The information comes from Senior Editor at GameInformer, Imran Khan, who has heard that the biggest problem with Metroid Prime 4's development was that Nintendo was trying something new by having the game being developed by different teams from different countries; with some studios struggling with the development while others were doing fine.

Because of these disparities between the different development teams, Nintendo decided to keep everything under one roof; leading them to contact Retro Studios to start working on the Metroid Prime 4 project from scratch.

Thankfully, Nintendo were open about the game's delay and explained the situation to fans of the Metroid series — and hopefully the game will be developed smoothly now that Retro Studios is involved.
