It seems that Ubisoft's long-neglected Prince of Persia series may be making its long-awaited comeback, as new information has seemingly revealed that a remake may currently be in the works — which is the kind of news that fans of the series had been waiting for a long time to hear.
This information comes from twitter user @KenXyro, who spotted a listing on Guatemalan retailer MAX, where Prince of Persia Remake has been listed for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, and expected to release at some point in November of this year.
Interestingly enough, this game is simply titled Prince of Persia Remake, so it doesn't really tells us much about exactly what game is being remade. Could it be a 3D remake of Jordan Mechner's Prince of Persia for DOS? Is it a 2D remake of the original?
Whatever the case, this is definitely some exciting news if true. It means that Ubisoft is willing to bring the series back, and at this point pretty much anything would do the trick; just don't make it a mobile game, and fans will likely be thankful. It is also worth mentioning that, as of this writing, retailer MAX has pulled the listing for this alleged Prince of Persia Remake from their website.
Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands was the last entry in the series to be released, and that game launched in 2010, so fans being excited for this alleged Prince of Persia Remake is more than understandable; even when the name doesn't really tell us anything about the game.
