This next rumor should be taken with a pinch of salt, as it may suggest that some characters from SNK may be joining the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's very ambitious roster; not at all a stretch when considering the sheer amount of characters in the roster that come from other intellectual properties.

The rumor actually stems from Nintendo UK's official Super Smash Bros. Ultimate website, where it was revealed that character(s) from SNK intellectual properties would be part of the Challenger Pack 4; meaning that series like Athena, The King of Fighters, Samurai Shodown, and even Fatal Fury could lend characters to show up in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

Nintendo UK's has since deleted the DLC page from the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate website, which could either confirm or flat out deny that SNK characters will be showing up in the game. At this point, however, is best to wait for an official announcement.

With all of that said, SNK is well-known for their phenomenal video game fighting series, so seeing actual fighters joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is, again, not at all a stretch. Let's just keep our fingers crossed for this to be the case.

Legendary game worlds and fighters collide in the ultimate showdown—a new entry in the Super Smash Bros. series for the Nintendo Switch system! New fighters, like Inkling from the Splatoon series and Ridley from the Metroid series, make their Super Smash Bros. series debut alongside every Super Smash Bros. fighter in the series…EVER!

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is currently available exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
