A new rumor suggests that Disney may be collaborating with Xbox on an all-new Star Wars game, potentially marking another major team-up between the entertainment giant and the gaming powerhouse.

This wouldn’t be the first time the two have joined forces for video games. Earlier this year, Disney and Xbox released Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, developed by Bethesda’s MachineGames, the studio behind the hit Wolfenstein series. The game launched to strong critical acclaim in December and became one of the first major Xbox first-party titles to arrive on PlayStation 5 in April 2025.

Now, according to Xbox influencer Riskit4TB on Twitter, Disney is reportedly "interested in working with Xbox once more" following Indiana Jones and the Great Circle's success. Riskit claims that the project being discussed is a new Star Wars game, although no official word has been released. Check out his post on X down below:

With EA’s Star Wars exclusivity having ended two years ago, the galaxy far, far away has opened up to a host of developers. Major projects like Star Wars Outlaws from Ubisoft, and Star Wars Eclipse from Quantic Dream are already in the works. In addition, remasters such as Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster, Bounty Hunter, and Episode 1: Jedi Power Battles have brought classic titles to modern systems.

There are even more upcoming entries, including Star Wars Jedi 3 from EA and Star Wars Zero Company, a tactical game in the style of XCOM by Bit Reactor.

As for which Xbox studio might take the helm of this rumored project, fans are already speculating. MachineGames may be returning to its Wolfenstein series next, making them unlikely candidates. Ninja Theory recently launched Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, while The Coalition is deep in development on Gears of War: E-Day. That leaves studios like id Software, Zenimax Online, and the new Elsewhere Entertainment as strong contenders for the spot.

Unfortunately, no official mention of the project was made during the recent Xbox Games Showcase, meaning fans will have to wait a little longer for confirmation, if it’s coming at all.

Still, with Xbox’s growing interest in licensed IP and Disney’s willingness to experiment with new development partners, the Force may once again be strong between these two entertainment titans. However, we have to keep in mind that at the end of the day this is just a rumor, so it is very possible that it may end up never coming true.

Do you think that it will happen? What type of game do you wish they would make? Let us know your thoughts on the rumor in the comments down below!
