Microsoft could be looking into purchasing Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, if the latest rumour is to be believed. What makes this such big news is the fact that Warner Bros. owns quite a bunch of intellectual properties, such as Batman, Harry Potter, and even Mortal Kombat; all of which are considered to be insanely popular.
Before we continue, however, we urge you to take this information with a pinch of salt, as none of this has, in any possible way, confirmed by neither Microsoft nor Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
Now that we got that out of the way, this rumour was first reported by The Information, who reveal that anonymous sources have claimed that Microsoft is looking to purchase Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment in order to bolster the line-up of games for the Xbox Series X, and future home consoles.
According to these sources, it isn't just Microsoft interested in purchasing Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, as Activision Blizzard, Electronic Arts, and Take Two Interactive are also potential financial buyers; not surprising, considering the intellectual properties Warner Bros. currently owns.
It has been known for a while that AT&T, Warner Bros.'s current owner, has previously considered selling Warner Bros.'s video game division, although this new information claims that nothing is final just yet, as no transaction has been made between AT&T and the potential suitors.
