Last year, right before
Sonic Mania Plus was released, Sega began promoting this new expansion by releasing a series of short animated episodes that were shared on the official
Sonic the Hedgehog YouTube channel for everyone to watch:
Sonic Mania Adventures.
While
Sonic Mania Adventures is maybe 15 minutes long, as a whole, the series was incredibly well-received by fans of the Blue Blur; it was charming, it was colourful, it was funny, and it captured the essence of Sonic almost too perfectly.
Sonic Mania Adventures proved that Sega had finally figured out how to properly market Sonic, and now they have teamed up with
Sonic Mania Adventures Director Tyson Hesse to release a brand-new episode; this time, however, featuring Modern Sonic.
This new adventure directed by Tyson Hesse is actually a Christmas special that sees Chao dreaming of a space adventure, while Sonic tries to prevent Chao from getting into all kinds of trouble; not to mention Dr. Robotnik is, as usual, up to no good.
