Last week we got the news that the previously announced Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy was being released for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch; bringing back the classic multiplayer game from the early 2000s to current generation of consoles.

The problem with the port, however, was not apparent until players got to play the game's multiplayer mode; only to find out that unintended crossplay with PC servers had console players being completely obliterated by PC players — who have access to cheats and better controls, as playing the game with a keyboard and mouse is how the game was always intended to be played.

US Gamer reached out to Aspyr, and asked why was it that the crossplay functionality had not been advertised prior to the release of Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy, and whether they would be offering a solution to console players.

"We're absolutely thrilled and appreciative of the support that our fan community has given last week's launch of Star Wars™ Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. We are aware of the current bug that allows multiplayer cross play between PC and console," reads Aspyr's statement in regards to the crossplay issue.

"As with every game we work on, we are fully committed to delivering great gaming experiences for players, which includes a fair playing field for all. A remedy for this loophole is now in the works and will be available soon," the statement conludes.

Thankfully, Aspyr was quick to address this issue and are currently working on a solution; other than that, Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy offers a great experience to players, but they will have to wait a little bit longer in order to fully enjoy the game's multiplayer mode.
