This past week, during the surprise Nintendo Direct Mini presentation that streamed on Wednesday, developer Aspyr revealed that the previously announced Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy was becoming available the very same day of the presentation.
Aspyr had already released Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast in September of last year for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch. Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy, much like its relatively recently released prequel, also became available for the aforementioned platforms.
Unlike Jedi Outcast, however, Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy features the classic multiplayer mode that made both titles popular back in the early 2000s. This has been causing some issues, however, as PlayStation 4 and Nintendo players are sharing servers with PC players; leading to nothing but a bloodshed.
Everyone who's had the chance to play the game on either the PlayStation 4 or Nintendo Switch platforms may have encountered PC players, and the problem is that some cheaters have also made their way into the servers; ruining the experience for console players.
One of the reasons why this is happening is because console players don't have the option to select the servers they want to join; being thrown into random servers.
PC Gamer has reached out to Aspyr, but they have not received a reply yet; at least, as of this writing.
Last year Aspyr also had to address issues with Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Outcast not featuring the option to invert the Y-Axis, and they took their time but eventually solved the problem. hopefully they'll also fix this, because multiplayer is one of, if not, the most important features in Jedi Academy, and the experience is not really pleasant right now.
Forge your weapon and follow the path of the Jedi Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is the latest installment of the highly acclaimed Jedi Knight series. Take on the role of a new student eager to learn the ways of the Force from Jedi Master Luke Skywalker.
Star Wars: Jedi Knight - Jedi Academy is currently available for the PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.
