IGN has released 9 minutes of gameplay footage from Star Wars Jedi: Survivor ahead of its release on March 17 April 28, and it offers a much better idea of what to expect from the upcoming sequel.
"Get an early look at one of the first new planets Cal Kestis will explore in the upcoming sequel, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor," reads the site's description of what we see here. "This video covers 9 minutes of gameplay that takes place after Cal crash lands on Koboh and must seek out help to repair his ship, The Mantis."
There are no story spoilers to be found as we instead follow Cal and BD-1 around the planet and to what looks like a Separatist holdout of some sort. B1 battle droids, B2 super battle droids, and commando droids can all be seen waiting to battle the Jedi, though there are plenty of dangerous creatures to contend with as well.
That double-bladed lightsaber also promises to be key in combat, especially as it can be split in two. It also seems like we can expect to collect jackets instead of ponchos this time around!
Picking up five years after the events of Jedi: Fallen Order, Jedi: Survivor is a third-person, narrative-driven action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment, developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games. If this trailer is any indication, the stakes have increased dramatically in this follow-up, with new supporting characters, locations, and gameplay mechanics.
No longer a Padawan, Cal has come into his own and grown into a powerful Jedi Knight.
Carrying the memories and expectations of the Jedi Order with him, his crusade against the Empire has only become more perilous. The Dark Times are closing in - with enemies new and familiar surrounding him, Cal will need to decide how far he’s willing to go to save those closest to him.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows PC.
