Team Sonic Racing is the latest title in the
Sonic the Hedgehog series, which borrows elements from the
Sonic & All-Stars Racing games but adds a bunch of new gameplay mechanics that make this a brand-new experience for fans of the
Sonic racing games.
Released just last week for the PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Steam,
Team Sonic Racing has already managed to join the top charts in the United Kingdom; taking the first place from last week's
Rage 2, which is currently sitting in the 4th position.
What's even more interesting is the fact that this is the first time a
Sonic the Hedgehog title has been able to top the UK charts since 2008, when
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games was released; a game developed by Sega and published by Nintendo that marked the first crossover between characters from the
Sonic the Hedgehog and
Super Mario Bros. series.
Another ineresting fact is that
Team Sonic Racing has already managed to double the first week sales of its predecessor,
Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed — which released in 2012 for every platform in that generation of consoles; most definitely a win for Sega and their iconic
Sonic the Hedgehog series.
Team Sonic Racing arrives this Winter! Race in a team with your friends (or against them) both offline and online, and choose from a variety of characters and tracks in the Sonic universe!
