When Sega was promoting
Team Sonic Racing, the developers had the great idea to follow in the footsteps of the
Sonic Mania Plus marketing campaign — by producing an animated miniseries to keep fans of the blue hedgehog excited for the upcoming release.
Team Sonic Racing Overdrive was the result of that campaign and, much like the
Sonic Mania Adventures, it was also made into a miniseries — produced and directed by Yukio Kusumoto and Taylor Hesse, respectively — that, once again, featured no dialogue but managed to fully capture the essence of the series.
Much like the
Sonic Mania Adventures miniseries,
Team Sonic Racing Overdrive soon became a fan-favourite — even when this miniseries was only 2 episodes long, although the episodes were considerably longer than the previously released miniseries.
Today, Sega has shared a very interesting video for the
Team Sonic Racing Overdrive miniseries, which gives us a side-by-side comparison at the animations in early stages of development with the final product — so be sure to check it out and let us know what you think.
