The Sonic the Hedgehog movie has been in development for a very, very long time; with the rights to the movie finally being secured by Paramout Pictures back in October of last year, which is when production finally began.

Boasting a cast of renowned actors such as Jim Carrery as Dr. Robotnik, Ben Schwartz as Sonic, and James Marsden as new character Tom Wachowski, Paramount Pictures' Sonic the Hedgehog movie seems to be on track to becoming a proper video game movie adaptation; and we all know how video game movies usually turn out.

Today, we get our first motion poster for Paramount Pictures' Sonic the Hedgehog movie, which also gives us our very first look at Sonic, who's been given some more human-like proportions and is seen sporting his classic red and white running shoes.

While we don't get a clear look of the character, he does have all of the features that fans of the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series will easily recognise. With the first poster being released, we should expect more news about the movie soon, as well as a proper first look at the Blue Blur.
