Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 was officially announced in May of this year, after rumours had been hinting at this long-awaited announcement for quite a while, and revealed to be releasing for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC(Epic Games Store) on Friday the 4th of September.
The game is being developed by Vicarious Visions and published by Activision, who have worked together on Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, as well as in pretty much every other entry in the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater series, which is one of the reasons why players were surprised not to see that the game was not announced for the Nintendo Switch.
As of yet, neither Vicarious Visions not Activision have confirmed that a Nintendo Switch version of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 is being developed for the Nintendo Switch, but new information seems to reveal that the game could still be announced for Nintendo's popular handheld hybrid platform.
Information obtained by dataminers, via the Warehouse demo of the game that became available last week, has dug out some control options for the Nintendo Switch, which have been found within the game's code; possibly revealing that Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 will be able to be played in handheld mode, with Joycon controllers, and with the Switch's Pro controller.
Now, this could also mean that the developers at one point could've considered to develop Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 for the Nintendo Switch and eventually decided that it wouldn't be possible due to hardware limitations, or something like that, and this was just leftovers from a version that was ultimately cancelled, so it's best not to get your hopes high just yet.
None of this information has been officially revealed by the developers, so it is best to consider this news as a rumour until officially confirmed. With that said, it is very likely that the game would've eventually been revealed for the Nintendo Switch any way, since the developers will likely need some extra time to properly port it.
Below you can take a look at some of the pics that show the Nintendo Switch's control options that dataminers were able to find in the Warehouse demo for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2.
